Milo, a reserved Black man trapped in obsessive routines dreads the swimming test required for his upcoming medical check-up. Convinced that his hands are too small to keep him afloat, he signs up for swimming lessons by correspondence. His exchanges with Lydia, an empathetic and encouraging instructor, slowly begin to crack the rigid shell of his world.
